Babe Ruth’s Thanksgiving in Washington State

BRC was doing some research on their Ruth family library of photos and the origin of some of the pictures was just recently discovered (see the photo and link below). Interestingly enough, the background story for the photos is related to Thanksgiving. In 1926, Babe Ruth visited the Davenport Hotel turkey farm in Spokane, Washington with former heavy weight boxing champ James J Corbett. Ruth personally “prepared” many turkeys for cooking as a part of a special thanksgiving dinner for a number of lucky orphans. One of Babe’s many demonstrations of kindness towards kids, particularly those that were less fortunate. BRC wishes all Babe Ruth fans a very happy, fulfilling Thanksgiving with your respective loved ones!
