Babe Ruth Footage Found

Amazingly, some new film of the Babe was recently uncovered.  The clip was found by a baseball researcher in the Fox Movietone archive at the University of South Carolina’s moving image research collections.  The footage was taken on June 1, 1925.  Babe had recently returned from a long illness which came to be known as the “Belly Ache Heard Round The World.”  The Yankees lost the game 5-2 to the Washington Senators.  Most importantly, on this day, a young man by the name of Gehrig started one of the most important streaks in baseball history – most consecutive games (now broken by Cal Ripken).
